Procedures for the Greeters and the Ushers

Greeters and ushers to wear name tags (which will be provided).

If you are unable to be there on your assigned Sunday, change with someone else and let Val know by Thursday evening (905) 985-3586.

Tasks

• Place a glass of water at the side of pulpit for the minister or guest speaker.
• Check to see that a bulletin and hymn book are on pulpit.
• Light candles on the communion table and extinguish the flame after service.
• Collect the offering.

Being Intentional about the Welcome

• Either the greeter or the usher may welcome parishioners and visitors. The bulletin, containing the order of service and announcements, is presented and visitors especially are invited to take a denominational pamphlet of their choice.
• Visitors are invited to sign the guest book.
• Visitors are asked if they would like someone to seat them.
• Either the greeter or the usher is to remain standing at the back of the sanctuary for a short time after the service begins to greet late comers
