Welcome !
We're glad that you have taken an interest in our church and it's members.
This website cannot do the job of really giving you an insight into who we are and what we are about, but hopefully, it will at least give you an introduction.
We are a small rural church in the hamlet of Greenbank, approximately 20 minutes north of Whitby.
Beyond that, we are a community of people. People from all walks of life. Business people, blue collar workers, sales people, farmers, teachers who all share in a belief of Christ.
We are all on a journey to finding our own place and clarifying our beliefs. We gather to worship God and reflect on Jesus with those around us.
We believe in the love of Christ and gather in joy and song to praise Him.
We're so glad that you have taken this first step to get to know us and hope that you will visit us in person soon.

Q: HOW DO I GET INVOLVED ?
A: The best way is to come out to worship service (11:00 am Sundays). Directions
We are always happy share the fellowship of our services with anyone regardless of their background or beliefs.
You will find church members greeting parishioners and guests at the door who are always eager to welcome and introduce new members to our church and the proceedings.
Q: WHO IS THE PASTOR?
A: Our pastor is Rev. Paul Moorhouse. For more information on our pastor see the "Our Minister" page.
Q: WHAT IS THE SERVICE LIKE?
A: Our pastor is fun, enthusiastic and energetic. You can expect to enjoy the service while praising and contemplating God's work.
Our service is an eclectic combination of traditional prayer and service with uplifting music from our wonderful Senior Choir and pianist.
You don't have to worry about not knowing the words for a prayer or a hymn as these are always projected on a screen or available in a hymn book for the parishioners.
Q: WHAT ABOUT MY CHILDREN?
A: We have Sunday school for school age children and your children are welcome to attend. Simply bring them with you to service and they can go downstairs with the rest of the Sunday School kids after "Gods Word For Our Younger People". See "What we do" for more information.
If you have younger children, we would be pleased to have them attend the regular service with you. There are a number of families with younger children, so you won't be alone.
Q: HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND?
A: Greenbank United Church has been around since 1896. We have had a long and interesting history. Check out the "Our History" page for more insight.
Q: HOW SHOULD I DRESS?
A: Dress comfortably. We are a casual church, no pressure to wear a suit and tie but if that is what you are comfortable in by all means wear that. Feel free to wear anything you are comfortable in that isn't a distraction to others.
No Easter bunnies suits, unless of course, it's Easter, then all bets are off ! In fact, you may even see Rev. Paul wearing one !
Q: HOW LONG DOES YOUR SERVICE LAST?
A: Our services are an hour long. You may have heard that said before and found it to be untrue, but really our services are just one hour (check us out and see).
Q: DO YOU HAVE TO BE A GREENBANK RESIDENT TO ATTEND?
A: Of course not. Once again our services are open to everyone.
We often have visitors from out of town. Sometimes even from overseas !
Q: I STILL HAVE SOME QUESTIONS
A: We would love to help if we can.
